A business analytics capstone connecting statistical learning, modern machine learning and Python implementation with authentic decision problems and real-world data constraints.

Learning Outcomes

Official unit information
  • Algorithmic judgement: Compare learning algorithms and explain the practical advantages and limitations of different approaches.
  • Machine learning for decisions: Build a strong applied machine-learning toolkit for evidence-based business decision making.
  • Model construction: Create models that investigate relationships among business variables and support defensible recommendations.
  • Real-world data: Work with varied datasets while identifying modelling problems, operational constraints and limitations.
  • Professional delivery: Implement models in Python, collaborate productively and communicate insights professionally and ethically.

Current Focus

This semester I am using the capstone to consolidate modelling, programming and decision communication into one end-to-end workflow. My focus is not only model performance, but whether the analysis is reproducible, interpretable and useful within the constraints of an authentic business problem.
